Skype
Skype has released the next version of its Windows client which brings with it a Facebook integration and Group Video Conferencing. You can now log in with Facebook Connect in Skype to instant message, call, and text your Facebook friends. You can view the Facebook News Feed from within Skype, also post status messages, and synchronize your status messages with Skype's "mood message." The Group video calling feature supports 10-person conversations. Skype proposes to charge for group video chats, but for now users can try out the service for free. The latest version of Skype has a better overall call quality, and its new interface should make it more intuitive to use existing Skype features. Skype's integration with Facebook is seen as a win-win for both, Facebook users would get access to a robust voice and video calling platform, and Skype, currently with 560 million registered users, can expect a massive surge in new users from Facebook's 500 million users.
