US visa

In a poor zoo of India, a lion was frustrated as he was

Offered not more than 1 kg meat a day.

One day the lion thought it's
prayerswere answered when a US Zoo

Manager visited the zoo and requested the zoo

Management to shift the lion to a US zoo.

The lion was pleased and started thinking of a central A/C

Environment, a goat or two every day and a
US Green Card .

On it's first day after arrival, the lion was offered a big bag,

Sealed very nicely, for breakfast. It opened the bag quickly but was

Shocked to see that it contained only a few bananas.

Controlling its anger, the lion thought that may be they cared too

Much for him as they were worried about his stomach as

He had recently shifted from India. The next day the same thing

On the third day again the

Same food bag of bananas was delivered.
Now the lion was furious. It stopped the delivery boy and blasted

Him, "Don't you know, I am the lion...King of the Jungle....What's

Wrong with your management? What nonsense is this ? Why are you

Delivering bananas to me ?"

The delivery boy politely said, "Sir, I know you are the King of the

Jungle you know that you have been brought here on a

                                                                                                      Monkey's visa!!!

Not all rules can be followed

Not ALL rules can be followed!!!
A lady manager of a big reputed office noticed a new man one day and told him to come into her office.
"What is your name?" was the first thing she asked the new guy.
"John," the new guy replied.
She scowled, "Look... I don't know what kind of a namby-pamby place you worked before, but I don't call anyone by their first name. It breeds familiarity and that leads to a breakdown in authority.
I refer to my employees by their last name only ... Smith, Jones, Baker ...that's all.
I am to be referred to only as Mrs. Robertson. Now that we got that straight,   what is your last name?"
The new guy sighed, "Darling............ My name is John Darling."
"Okay John, the next thing I want to tell you is . . .."     J

to U & Ur Loved ones

The husband presented a new car to his wife as her birthday present. He first handed over the keys; then a pouch with all necessary documents, including her driving license; and then followed it up with an elongated hug. He then offered to take care of the children and asked her to take a long drive. She thanked him with a kiss and she was gone with her Auto-Baby. Hardly a kilometer into the drive, she hit a median. She was safe, but the car was dented. She was consumed with guilt, What would I tell him? How would he take it? How will I face him? Thoughts and feelings ran amok. The police were quick to arrive at the accident scene. Can we see your license? they demanded. Her hands still shivering, she reached out to the pouch, which her husband had so thoughtfully given to her. Tears rolled down her cheeks. She thought, For all that he has been doing for me. As she picked the license from the pouch she noticed a post-on it with her husband’s handwriting, “Honey, in case of an accident, please remember, it is you that I love and not the car. Love you.”
A scratch in the car makes our blood pressure go up.. but we don't seem to mind a scratch in our heart.
I know of another person who gave a party because his Mercedes Benz was rammed and jammed in an accident. He explained, Though the car is completely damaged, nothing happened to me !. Now that I am okay I can buy another vehicle, but if the automobile was intact and I was gone it wouldn't have made much sense.
Our life began with the Rs 60 toy car. When it broke we cried. Then we upgraded ourselves to the Rs. 2000 remote controlled car. When that got damaged we wept. Then we were gifted the Rs. 20 ,000 battery operated car. When that stopped functioning we were depressed. Then came the Rs. 4 lakhs car;.. And every time something happened to this machine, whether a scratch or a dent, the mercury of our tensions and worries went up.
All in all, it seems our toys have grown, but we haven't !!
For what we cry has changed, but the crying is still on. Just that our crying is a lot more sophisticated now. It has many new names like anger; disappointment, frustration, fear; nervousness, stress, melancholy, anxiety, etc…
Never again waste a drop of your precious tear for a toy, no matter how dear the toy may be!
After all, you are the dearest of them all !!!

Cost Cutting...!!!

Once upon a time the government with Ruling Party XYZ had a vast scrap yard in the middle of a desert. Ruling Party XYZ Said..
- "Someone may steal from it at night."

So they created a night watchman position and hired a person for the job. Then Ruling Party XYZ Said..

- "How does the watchman do his job without instruction?"

So they created a planning department and hired two people, one person to write the instructions, and one person to do time studies. Then Ruling Party XYZ Said..,

- "How will we know the night watchman is doing the tasks correctly?"

So they created a Quality Control department and hired two people. One to do the studies and one to write the reports. Then Ruling Party XYZ Said.. ,

- "How are these people going to get paid?"

So they created the following positions, a time keeper, and a payroll officer, then hired two people. Then Ruling Party XYZ Said..,

- "Who will be accountable for all of these people?"

So they created an administrative section and hired three people, an Administrative Officer, Assistant Administrative Officer, and a Legal Secretary. Then Ruling Party XYZ Said..,

- "We have had this command in operation for one year and we are $18,000 over budget, we must cutback overall cost."

So they laid off the night watchman.

She is always faster and faster.

For a good laugh!!!

We all know this one

One day a man was having a conversation with God when his whole life flashed before his eyes as a series of footsteps on the sands of time. He saw that there were two pairs of footprints, but during the most difficult periods of his life there were only one set of footprints. He asked God "You said you will be with me throughout this journey, but why have you deserted me during the most critical times of my life??" to which God answered "Son, I did not desert you, I was always with see only one set of footprints because during those difficult times in your life, I was carrying you in my hands"

Now know this one too!!!!!!!!

Another day I was having a similar conversation with my Project Manager (PM) when my whole project flashed before my eyes as a series of footsteps on the sands of time. I saw that there were two pairs of footprints, but during the most difficult times in the project there were only one set of footprints. I asked my PM "You said you will be with me throughout the project, but why have you deserted me during the most critical times of the project??" to which the PM answered "Son, I did not desert you, I was always with see only one set of footprints because during those difficult times, I was sitting on your head!!"

IT firms help staff look out for jobs

Bangalore: IT biggies in India are no more just laying off their employees, and instead, firms such Yahoo, Cisco and Genpact are helping their employees connect with potential employers. The companies adopted this measure to cope with the economic recession more effectively by downsizing the staff strength in order to lower the salary costs, reported The Economic Times.

"When a global software product development firm wanted to downsize, they asked me to get in touch with another firm to see if they would like to absorb the employees," said GC Jayaprakash, principal consultant at Stanton Chase. "Outplacement is gaining ground in India but usually it is done in an informal manner and firms do not want to publicize this too much," he added.

Indeed, People Capability Maturity Model (PCMM) certification makes it mandatory for firms to offer outplacement help. "As a process, it has been there for a long time but very few organizations have used it in India and in most cases, it has been the MNCs. Indian organizations generally shy away it," said Amitabh Das, CEO of Vati Consulting.

During past three months, firms across the segments of IT, business process outsourcing (BPO) and FMCG have offered such help to their staff. HUL, Motorola, Sapient, Yahoo, Intel, Genpact, Cisco and Fidelity are among several firms in India who have offered outplacement help to their affected employees.

Shiv Agrawal, CEO of ABC Consultants, is a big supporter of this system. "Retrenched employees bear no negative feelings and perceive the organization as a good employer. It sends a positive message to the remaining workforce thereby giving fillip to morale, loyalty, productivity and retention," he says.

More over, even after asking their employees to leave because of the recession, these companies are hoping that they will be able to attract talent when the situation improves.

Every person those who are far away from their parents for jobs should have to read this heart touching mail !!!

Bitter Reality

As the dream of most parents I had acquired a degree in Software Engineering and joined a company based in USA, the land of braves and opportunity. When I arrived in the USA, it was as if a dream had come true.

Here at last I was in the place where I want to be. I decided I would be staying in this country for about Five years in which time I would have earned enough money to settle down in India.

My father was a government employee and after his retirement, the only asset he could acquire was a decent one bedroom flat.

I wanted to do some thing more than him. I started feeling homesick and lonely as the time passed. I used to call home and speak to my parents every week using cheap international phone cards. Two years passed, two years of Burgers at McDonald's and
pizzas and discos and 2 years watching the foreign exchange rate getting happy whenever the Rupee value went down.

Finally I decided to get married. Told my parents that I have only 10 days of holidays and everything must be done within these 10 days. I got my ticket booked in the cheapest flight. Was jubilant and was actually enjoying hopping for gifts for all my friends back home. If I miss anyone then there will be talks. After reaching home I spent home one week going through all the photographs of girls and as the time was getting
shorter I was forced to select one candidate.

In-laws told me, to my surprise, that I would have to get married in 2-3 days, as I will not get anymore holidays. After the marriage, it was time to return to USA, after giving some money to my parents and telling the neighbors to look after them, we returned to USA.

My wife enjoyed this country for about two months and then she started feeling lonely. The frequency of calling Indiaincreased to twice in a week sometimes 3 times a week. Our savings started diminishing.

After two more years we started to have kids. Two lovely kids, a boy and a girl, were gifted to us by the almighty. Every time I spoke to my parents, they asked me to come to Indiaso that they can see their grand-children.

Every year I decide to go to India… But part work part monetary conditions prevented it. Years went by and visiting Indiawas a distant dream. Then suddenly one day I got a
message that my parents were seriously sick. I tried but I couldn't get any holidays and thus could not go to India ... The next message I got was my parents had passed away and as there was no one to do the last rights the society members had done whatever they could. I was depressed. My parents had passed away without seeing their grand children.

After couple more years passed away, much to my children's dislike and my wife's joy we returned to Indiato settle down. I started to look for a suitable property, but to my dismay my savings were short and the property prices had gone up during all these years. I had to return to the USA...

My wife refused to come back with me and my children refused to stay in India... My 2 children and I returned to USAafter promising my wife I would be back for good after two years.

Time passed by, my daughter decided to get married to an American and my son was happy living in USA... I decided that had enough and wound-up every thing and returned to India... I had just enough money to buy a decent 02 bedroom flat in a
well-developed locality.

Now I am 60 years old and the only time I go out of the flat is for the routine visit to the nearby temple. My faithful wife has also left me and gone to the holy abode.

I wondered was it worth all this?

My father, even after staying in India,

Had a house to his name and I too have the same nothing more.

I lost my parents and children for just ONE EXTRA BEDROOM.

Looking out from the window I see a lot of children dancing. This damned cable TV has spoiled our new generation and these children are losing their values and culture because of it. I get occasional cards from my children asking I am alright. Well
at least they remember me.

Now perhaps after I die it will be the neighbors again who will be performing my last rights, God Bless them.

But the question still remains 'was all this worth it?'

I am still searching for an answer.................!!!

Heart touching message.........................

Dear All,

A touching STORY......... must read...... friend mail......
I was walking around in a Big Bazar store making shopping, when I saw a
Cashier talking to a boy couldn't have been more than 5 or 6 years old.
The Cashier said, 'I'm sorry, but you don't have enough money to buy
this doll. Then the little boy turned to me and asked: ''aunty, are you
sure I don't have enough money?''

I counted his cash and replied: ''You know that you don't have enough
money to buy the dolll, my dear.'' The little boy was still holding the
doll in his hand.
Finally, I walked toward him and I asked him who he wished to give this

doll to. 'It's the doll that my sister loved most and wanted so much .
Iwanted to Gift her for her BIRTHDAY.
I have to give the doll to my mommy so that she can give it
to my sister when she goes there.' His eyes were so sad while saying
this. 'My Sister has gone to be with God. Daddy says that Mommy is going
to see God very soon too, so I thought that she could take the doll with
her to give it to my sister.''
My heart nearly stopped. The little boy looked up at me and said: 'I
told daddy to tell mommy not to go yet. I need her to wait until I come
back from the mall.' Then he showed me a very nice photo of him where he
was laughing. He then told me 'I want mommy to take my picture with her
so my sister won't forget me.' 'I love my mommy and I wish she doesn't
have to leave me, but daddy says that she has to go to be with my little
sister.' Then he looked again at the doll with sad eyes, very quietly.
I quickly reached for my wallet and said to the boy. 'Suppose we check
again, just in case you do have enough money for the doll?''
'OK' he said, 'I hope I do have enough.' I added some of my money to his
with out him seeing and we started to count it. There was enough for the
doll and even some spare money..
The little boy said: 'Thank you God for giving me enough money!'
Then he looked at me and added, 'I asked last night before I went to
sleep for God to make sure I had enough money to buy this doll, so that
mommy could give It to my sister. He heard me!'' 'I also wanted to have
enough money to buy a white rose for my mommy,

but I didn't dare to ask God for too much. But He gave me enough to buy
the doll and a white rose. My mommy loves white roses.'

I finished my shopping in a totally different state from when I started.
I  couldn't get the little boy out of my mind. Then I remembered a local
news paper article two days ago, which mentioned a drunk man in a truck,
who hit a car occupied by a young woman and a little girl. The little
girl died right away, and the mother was left in a critical state. The

family had to decide whether to pull the plug on the life-sustaining
machine, because the young woman would not be able to recover from the
coma. Was this the family of the little boy?
Two days after this encounter with the little boy, I read in the news
paper that the young woman had passed away.. I couldn't stop myself as I
bought a bunch of white roses and I went to the funeral home where the
body of the young woman was exposed for people to see and make last
wishes before her burial. She was there, in her coffin, holding a
beautiful white rose in her hand with the photo of the little boy and
the doll placed over her chest. I left the place, teary-eyed, feeling
that my life had been changed for ever.
The love that the little boy had for his mother and his sister is still,
to this day, hard to imagine. And in a fraction of a second, a drunk

driver had taken all this away from him.
Now you have 2 choices:
1) Forward this message, or
2) Ignore it as if it never touched your heart.
The value of a man or woman resides in what he or she gives, not in what
they are capable of receiving.

Don't worry, be happy

Don't worry, be happy

Positive thinking can empower us in a way that would boost our self esteem, expand our comfort zone and make us healthy, thus paving the way for professional growth.

Winston Churchill had once remarked that a pessimist sees difficulty in every opportunity while an optimist sees opportunity in every difficulty.

Are you the one who frets at the sight of a difficult assignment or feels he won't be able to meet the tough deadline? Or are you the type who can meet challenges head on? It is easy to identify the optimist in office he focuses his energy on identifying a solution and charting out a roadmap for achieving the task at hand. He nurtures a mental attitude that admits positive thoughts, words and images in his mind, leading to success and happiness.

The positive image a professional who is a die-hard optimist, will always think positive. He expects to see brightness and sunshine everywhere and he uses words like "I will," "I can" and "it's possible." While a pessimist would lose precious time just thinking about the problem and getting bogged down by it. He does not focus on the solution, the optimist does.

An optimist would introspect and figure out the disconnect between performance and expectations and try and bridge the gap, never losing sight of the goals.

Associate with positive people. Both positive and negative thoughts are contagious.

At the workplace one often encounters unhappy souls, who find something wrong with almost everything around them. They point fingers when things go wrong, they grumble, moan and find fault. You need to steer clear of these people as they rub off their attitude and state of mind on us. It always helps to be amongst people who are optimistic, upbeat and happy.

No one is perfect, just be what you are - good one

A water bearer in China had two large pots, each hung on the ends of a pole which he carried across his neck. One of the pots
Had a crack in it, while the other pot was perfect and always
Delivered a full portion of water. At the end of the long walk from the stream to the House, the cracked pot arrived only half full. For a full two years this went on daily, with the bearer delivering only one and a half pots full of water to his house.
Of course, the perfect pot was proud of its accomplishments,
Perfect for which it was made. But the poor cracked pot was
Ashamed of its own imperfection. And miserable that it was able to accomplish only half of what it had been made to do.

After two years of what it perceived to be a bitter failure, it spoke to the water bearer one day by the stream. "I am ashamed of myself, and I want to apologize to you. I have been able to
Deliver only half my load because this crack in my side causes
Water to leak out all the way back to your house. Because of my
Flaws, you have to do all of this work, and you don't get full value from your efforts," the pot said.

The bearer said to the pot, "Did you notice that there were flowers only on your side of the path, but not on the other pot's side? That's because I have always known about your flaw. So I
Planted flower seeds on your side of the path, and every day while we walk back, you've watered them. For two years I have been able to pick these beautiful flowers to decorate the table.
Without you being just the way you are, there would not be this beauty to grace the house?

Moral: Each of us has our own unique flaws. We're all cracked pots. But it's the cracks and flaws we each have that make our lives together so very interesting and rewarding. You've just got to take each person for what they are, and look for the good in them. Blessed are the flexible, for they shall not be bent out of shape.
Remember to appreciate all the different people in your life.
Don't forget to send this mail to all worthy people.
I did it.

Be the Best of Whatever you are

Letter from a guy tired of chain mails!!!! ULTIMATE

I want to thank all my friends and other unknown people who have
forwarded chain letters to me in 2008.

Because of your kindness:

I stopped drinking Coca-Cola after I found out that it's good only for
toilet stains.

I stopped eating apples for fear that it might have been cut by a fruit-seller having an open wound on his hands & is suffering from AIDS.

I smell like a wet dog since I stopped using deodorants because they

I also stopped answering the phone for fear that they may ask me to
dial a
stupid number and then I get a phone bill from hell with calls to
Uganda ,
Singapore and Tokyo .

I also stopped drinking water outside for fear that I will get
sick from
the rat shit and urine.

When I go to parties, I don't look at any girl, no matter how hot she
is, for
fear that she will take me to a hotel, drug me, then take my kidneys
and leave
me taking a nap in a bathtub full of ice.

I also donated all my savings to the Amy Bruce account. A sick girl
that was
about to die in the hospital about 7,000 times. (Poor girl! she's been
7 since

My free Nokia phone never arrived and neither did the free passes for a
vacation to Disneyland .

Made some Hundred wishes before forwarding those Dalai Lama, Ganesh
Tirupathi Balaji pics etc..

Now most of those "Wishes" are already married (to someone else)!

You can add your own notes based on your similar experience and send
them to
your friends.

If ORKUT deletes my account, it doesn't matter BUT PLEASE DON'T SEND me
"Orkut is
deleting accounts: Due to sudden rush..." Otherwise I'll delete my

I have daily checked my ATM balance to see  if  Bill Gates has shared some of his fortune with me for sending those crap "BillGates is sharing his fortune'' emails but nothing happened...

No Thanks & No  Regards whatsoever,

A Totally Frustrated Engineer.
